MULLSJÖ MUNICIPALITY

Mullsjö is a municipality surrounded by vast forests and beautiful nature just northwest of Jönköping, Sweden. The main town is next to the two lakes Mullsjön and Stråken, and there are hiking trails and ski tracks just around the corner.

When the municipality needed to review and update the outdoor lighting, a procurement of around 2,000 luminaires along town streets and pedestrian and cycle paths was initiated.

The primary wishes were increased energy savings and a safer traffic environment. A total of 2,000 luminaires have now been installed. Each unit has custom lenses to suit the specific location, and the lighting automatically turns on at dusk and off at dawn.

The goals regarding energy efficiency were set high right from the start, and when seventy percent of the luminaires were assembled and put into operation, the goal had been achieved. Throughout the project, the time frames were tight. In addition to being the lighting supplier, Fagerhult also became a logistics partner and Vattenfall received the luminaires when they needed delivery.

All luminaires have Zhaga sockets and can be controlled with night dimming. This also makes the facility future-proof, as the lighting control system can be easily upgraded or replaced.
