Lighting for sports facilities.

Most sports require even lighting – and lighting that does not dazzle. Good lighting makes sports more enjoyable and better for everyone, both for participants and spectators. All sports facilities have different conditions and challenges in terms of design and size, from the regular multi-purpose hall to the large ice hockey arena with TV broadcasts

Regardless of the sport and facility, it is easy to get the right light in the right place with our optimised luminaires, light distributions and outputs. When we consider the needs of the facility, we can further optimise and minimise the energy cost with the right lighting control.

Sport and health in new light

As in many other areas, there is a standard for lighting sports facilities. The standard SS-EN 12193:2018, Light and lighting - Sports lighting, defines the lighting requirements for different sports divided into different classes, where you can find light levels for school sports, training and competitions at different levels. In our guides, we highlight how we can plan lighting efficiently and according to standards for optimised sports facilities.

Save energy easily with CLO

Our greatest opportunity to make a difference today is to reduce the energy that our luminaires consume. Two ways to do this are to use connected luminaires with control and luminaires with Constant Light Output (CLO) L100.

CLO with L100 entails that they have the same light level after 100,000 hours of burn time as as when they were first installed. With CLO it is easy to save energy, you get a higher maintenance factor and a more optimised plant. We're saving our energy for the sake of the future.

Induflex

Induflex Sport

Induflex Sport is suitable for all types of gymnasia and venues, no matter the activity or ceiling height. With high energy efficiency and good luminous flux, there are fewer installation points. In larger installations, around 60% energy can be saved compared to previous fluorescent lighting. The luminaire is robust and impact resistant and meets the strict requirements of the standard, DIN 57710-13 VDE 0710, which guarantees resistance to hard strikes.

Excis

Excis

Excis offers an ideal solution in sports halls in terms of lighting comfort, energy efficiency, durability and freedom from maintenance. Three different light distributions (wide, medium and asymmetric) and three different flows allow for a tailored lighting solution for different halls and various sports.

Hero

Our robust luminaire family Hero is especially developed for installation heights exceeding 20 metres. The luminaire is versatile with a wide range of installations and some variants are also certified in accordance with VDE 0710-13. Hero Spa is specially designed for swimming pools and the associated chlorine requirements.

Lighting control for sport facilites

In most sports facilities, DALI control is the obvious, and in many cases the only, choice. DALI allows for individual control of each luminaire to achieve better lighting and the ability to set special scenes. Despite the complexity and large lighting installations, only a few components are needed to manage the entire setup. We help you with the necessary details to tailor a sports facility based on the specific needs.
